Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a type of Japanese bodywork with roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A typical session includes compression, rocking, point work, and stretching. This modality is helpful to help relieve muscular tension, reduce stress, and bring balance to energetic pathways (meridians) throughout the body. The session concludes with gentle point work on the face.

Shiatsu is done fully clothed while lying on a cushioned floor mat. No oil is used.

Acupressure

Acupressure is another bodywork modality based on TCM. Gentle finger pressure is used to balance energetic pathways (meridians) on acupressure points throughout the body. After a brief shiatsu sequence on the back of the body, you lie face up while receiving this subtle work. The session concludes with gentle point work on the face.

Acupressure is done fully clothed while lying on a massage table. No oil is used.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of Japanese energy work. It uses a gentle laying of hands on or near the body to promote energy balancing. Reiki work encourages a harmonizing of energy and deep relaxation. Gentle bodywork techniques such as rocking, brushing, and holding are used to encourage the flow of energy and support muscular relaxation.

Reiki is done fully clothed while lying on a massage table. No oil is used.

Lymph Drainage

Manual lymph drainage helps encourage the drainage of lymph fluid. I offer manual lymph drainage for the head, face, and neck. This modality uses subtle techniques such as gentle pumping and slow circular movement with very light pressure. This modality is deeply relaxing, but does not involve any muscle manipulation or typical massage techniques.

Remote Offerings

Distance Reiki

Our call begins with a brief intake. The remaining time is dedicated to Reiki healing. Depending on your level of comfort, we can keep the call open so we can both communicate what we are feeling during the session. Sessions can be done over video or traditional phone call.

Travel Fee

If you are outside of the downtown Petaluma area, please note there is an additional travel fee of $0.50 per mile, up to 10 miles each way. Please allow me to arrive 10 minutes early to set up and 10 minutes after our time together to pack up.
